Batanes on the Brink

Batanes is unlike any other place in the country, a wild smattering of islands in the north where cliffs meet the sea on pebbled shorelines and goats and cows are sent out to pasture among green hills. These islands have been described as looking more
like the Scottish Highlands than the Philippines.


 

5 Days in Daet

It’s not even seven o’clock in the morning on a Saturday, yet the beach is full – there are families breakfasting on the sand, children playing, joggers, and bikers wheeling down near the shore. At one far end of the beach, surfers patiently sit on their boards in the water, waiting for a semblance of a wave.


 

In Focus - South Cotabato

Oggie Ramos saw a photo of this waterfall near Lake Sebu in a travel exhibit and decided that he must see it for himself. He wasted no time getting to the lake in South Cotabato, saw his waterfall, and took this photo on the right. The vibrancy of the water as it sprays and splashes in all direction before it plunges down the pool, the mossy green and grey steel rocks, the light pouring in from above, transport the viewer to a 3D of one of the most magical places on earth. It now makes up his treasured collection of photographs.
