Puerto Princesa - Where to Eat

Where to Eat: Puerto Princesa Restaurants
The food in Puerto Princesa is always fresh and usually very good. Due to the sheer number of restaurants in the vicinity, it can be difficult to choose the right place. Don’t despair. It’s really hard to go wrong. Here are some Puerto Princesa restaurants to choose from:
Ka Lui
This Puerto Princesa restaurant is located on the Eastern end of Rizal Avenue near the airport. The specialty here is seafood—luscious grilled tuna, prawns, and steamed lobster. Ka Lui also serves excellent fruit shakes. Owner Louie Olivia hails from Masbate, but visited Puerto Princesa over 10 years ago and never left. The restaurant is adorned with bamboo chimes, gongs, baskets and native weaves on the wall. The floor is covered in bamboo mats so you have to take off your shoes before entering the restaurant. Badjao Restaurant
Located in Barangay Bagong Sikat, this Palawan restaurant is set in a dramatic landscape. Eating here is like dining on a big verandah. The Duke of York, Queen Elizabeth’s son, dined in this Puerto Princesa restaurant a couple of years ago and his pictures are prominently displayed on the wall near the entrance. It’s best to visit Badjao just before sunset so you can see the breath-taking view. Food is fresh and good. For inquiries, call (048) 433-9912
Kamarikutan Kape at Galeri
At first glance, this Puerto Princesa restaurant looks like a giant Nipa Hut. But don’t be fooled by the simplicity. Kamarikutan has both a café and an art gallery. From continental to Filipino fare, your appetite will surely be sated. The coffee is also good. Kamarikutan is located at Rizal Avenue. For inquiries, call (48) 4335182.
Kinabuch Bar and Grill
Located beside Badjao inn, Kinabuch is the place to go if you want some good food and drinks. The atmosphere is lively and the music is pleasant. Here you can indulge in traditional Filipino cuisine such as grilled squid, crispy pata and chicharon bulaklak. This Palawan restaurant also serves beer and other alcoholic beverages.
