SEAIR RESUMES DIRECT FLIGHTS TO EL NIDO
Starting November 18, 2009, SEAIR resumes its direct flights to El Nido,
El Nido
El Nido is one of Palawan’s top tourist destinations. It is often referred to as the Philippines’ Last Frontier because of its scenic sights and bountiful natural resources. El Nido boasts of majestic limestone cliffs, lush jungles, and an abundance of species of flora and fauna. This is the perfect destination for divers, snorkelers, and beach lovers as well, as El Nido has over 30 dive sites and more than 50 beaches and hidden lagoons.
Kota Kinabalu
SEAIR’s first international destination, Kota Kinabalu is often referred to as a modern paradise. Located on the tropical island of Borneo, Kota Kinabalu is the state capital of Sabah. Here you can find lovely beaches, virgin reefs and forests. Aside from the long sandy beaches, some of the most popular attractions are the Low Kawi Wildlife Park, the Monsopiad Culture Village and the Sabah State Mosque.
Baler
The capital of Aurora Province, Baler is the province’s center for business and train. Baler is known for its tourist attractions and historical sites that include the Dona Aurora Memorial Shrine, the Baler Catholic Church, the Quezon House (the vacation home of Pres. Manual Quezon), and the Quezon Memorial Park. Baler also has resorts at Sabang Beach and Cemento Beach (where the annual International Aurora Surfing Cup is held).
Manila
Manila is the capital of the Philippines and the center of the country’s government and economy. Located along the shores of Manila Bay, Manila has it all—from world-class shopping malls to a thriving nightlife. Intramuros lies in the heart of Manila where visitors can see forts, colonial houses and dungeons. Other attractions include Rizal Park, Manila Ocean Park, and the National Museum of the Philippines.
Tablas
The largest of the three islands in the region of Romblon, Tablas is a hidden jewel among tourist spots in the Philippines. Although it is seldom in the itinerary of tourists, Tablas has a lot to offer. There are two marine sanctuaries in Tablas—one is the Looc Marine Refuge and Sanctuary and another is the Buenavista Marine Sanctuary). Other attractions are the remote village of San Agustin and the Dubduban Busay waterfalls.
Busuanga
Located in the province of Palawan, Busuanga is the biggest island in the Calamian Group. A popular tourist destination, Busuanga boasts of beautiful island beaches and forests. It is a very popular destination for scuba diving and wreck diving, in particular, is very popular. If you’re not too fond of the water, you can hike through Busuanga’s rainforests and hills. Attractions include the Black Island, Pamalican Island and Concepcion Falls.
Borangan
Here is another off-the-beaten path tourist destination that SEAIR flies to. The largest city in Eastern Samar, Borongan has white sand beaches and ideal surf sports. The most notable tourist must-sees are Divinubo Island and Ando Island. For surfers, Baybay Boulevard and Bato are havens. There are also several waterfalls such as the Tres Marias, Masakpasak and Tumaligis Falls.
Taytay
For nature-lovers, Taytay in Palawan is another place to visit. Here, tourists can indulge in natural wonders such as towering mountain cliffs, dense forests and secluded islands. Bird watchers revel in the migratory birds, called Balinsasayaw, that can be seen in Pabellon islands. Other attractions include Fort Santa Isabel and the world-class resort located in Apulit Island. Taytay is also home to the 12-meter high Canique Falls.
Zamboanga City
A prime tourist destination in the Philippines, Zamboanga City has a lot to offer world-weary travelers who are tired of seeing the same things over and over again. Here, one can indulge in historical sites such as Fort Pilar, Petit Barracks and Campo Muslim – Rio Hondo – Sahaya. You can also visit the Pasonanca Park, a recreational site where there are natural spring pools and picnic sites.
Jolo Philippines
Jolo is slowly but surely emerging as another popular tourist destination. This really isn’t a surprise since the island offers everything a traveler would want—pristine beaches, virgin forests and world-class dive sites. The food in Jolo is also sought-after thanks to the freshest seafood and exotic fruits available. Be sure to try a cup of Jolo coffee as it is famous through-out the world.
Tawi-Tawi
Considered the wildlife mecca of the Philippines, the island province of Tawi-Tawi is another off-the-beaten-path tourist destination. Tawi-Tawi has a lot of wild fauna. Birds of different species abound in the island including balud, tabon and the kingfisher. Other attractions include Sibutu (a hunter’s paradise with rampaging colorful wild hogs), the monkey sanctuary Bongao Peak, Tubig Indangan, the Simunol Mosque and Sitangkal (the Venice of Tawi-Tawi).
